Lazy Day

Lazy day Saturday. Did some washing, watered the garden and made a large zucchini quiche and not a lot else. Read some blogs, and had a nice day. My garden looks nice, after Geoff’s efforts. Tomorrow is threatening to be very hot. Darn it !

Some wise old sayings.

There are no strangers in life; only friends I haven’t met yet.

There is always someone worse off than you. Aesop.

There’s none so blind as those who will not see. French proverb.

This above all, to thy own self be true.

Those who love deeply never grow old; they may die of old age but they die young. Arthur Wing Pinero.

Though a cage be made of gold, it is still a cage. Mexican.

Time flies when you’re having fun.

‘Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. William Congreve.

To the world you might be one person, but to one person, you just might be the world. John H. MacDonald Jr.

To those whom much is given, much is asked in return. Bible.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.Nth American saying,

Too soon old, too late smart ! Norma Victor.

Two in distress makes sorrow less.

Two men look out through the same bars; one sees mud and one

the stars. Frederick Langbridge.

Trust in God but tie your camel. Iranian.

And finally a joke……

A man had great tickets for a grand final. As he sits down, another man asks if anyone is sitting in the seat next to him.

“No the seat is empty” he says. The other man is amazed that such a good seat was not being used.

The first man says “Well, actually, the seat is mine. My wife was supposed to come with me, but she passed away. This is the first grand final we haven’t been to together since we got married.”

“Oh…..I’m sorry to hear that. That’s terrible, but couldn’t you find someone else, a friend or relative or even a neighbour to take the seat?”

The man shakes his head.

“No. They’re all at the funeral.”

Merle - so nice to stopy by and see you again. It sounds like you had a pleasant day. I LOVE the quotes. I might have to use a few of them on the cards I make.

Take care, Meg

Hi Merle, I tried Bubba from your site and got through OK to his web site, then the new blog site at the top. You have no doubt found this by now.

Hi Peter ~~ Surely you could supply a prize for my grand-daughter !!
10,000 is pretty impressive anyway, so congrats for that.
She sent me a couple of e-mails (similar to Jans) and that is where I got the WinFixer from. It put icons on my desktop and one on bottom bar. It says it is free, but I should not need more?
Another sign says Internal Virus database is out of date. Come back Peter.... Cheers, Merle
