Be Thankful.

Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire.

If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don’t know something,

for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

<><>

Be thankful for the difficult times.

During these times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations,

because they give you opportunities for improvement.

<><>

Be thankful for each new challenge,

because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for youe mistakes.

They will teach you valuable lessons.

<><>

Be thankful when you’re tired and weary,

because it means you’ve made a difference.

It’s easy to be thankful for the good things.

A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who

are also thankful for the setbacks.

<><>

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.

Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,

and they can become your blessings.

I found this nice little poem in a scrapbook I have and thought it may appeal to some of my friends.

Today I have spent a good deal of time cooking meals and a nice big supply of Pea and Ham soup. Yum.

Nice with toast for my evening meal, because I like to have my main meal at midday, and hopefully walk a bit of it off before nightfall.

I am usually still up at midnight, a night owl like my brother Peter. Neither of us are very early risers, you can’t do it both ways.

Now to find a joke or two……

<><><><><> Not a very nice one ………

A man and his wife were spending the day at the zoo.

She was wearing a loose-fitting pink dress, sleeveless

with straps. He was wearing jeans and T-shirt.

<><>

As they walked through the ape exhibit, they passed in

front of a large silverback gorilla.

Noticing the wife, the gorilla went crazy.

He jumped on the bars, and holding on with one hand and

two feet, he grunted and pounded his chest with his free hand.

<><>

He was obviously excited at the pretty lady in the pink dress.

The husband noticing the excitement thought it was funny.

He suggested his wife tease the poor fellow some more by

puckering his lips and wiggling her bottom.

She played along and the gorilla got even more excited, making

noises that would wake the dead.

<><>

Then the husband suggested that she let one of her straps

fall and show a little more skin.

This drove the gorilla absolutely crazy, and he started doing flips.

Then the husband grabbed his wife, ripped open the door to the cage, flung her in with the gorilla and slammed the cage door shut.

<><>

“Now, tell him you have a headache.”

<><><><><><>

One morning a man comes into the church on crutches.

He stops in front of the holy water and splashes some

of it on both his legs, then throws away his crutches.

<><>

An altar boy sees the whole thing, and ran straight to the

rectory to tell the priest what he’d just seen.

Without batting an eye, the priest says: “Son, you’ve just

witnessd a miracle. Tell me, where is this man?”

<><>

“Over by the holy water, Father. Flat on his back.”

...speaking of Night Owls-I am one also! I'm always up past mid-night-usually much later!

I like that last quote-

"Youth is a gift of nature. Age is a work of art."

I'm a night owl, too.
Because of some blogger friends, I'm renewing my focus on all the things I have to be grateful for. Thanks, Merle.

Liked the one about thankfulness. An attitude of gratitude will give more latitude and strenthen your fortitude. The soup sounds yummy. ec

I like the MKL Jr. quote. That is so great.

I'm a night-owl too. Speaking of, I have a friend who asked me one time (when I said I was a 'night-owl') "Is there any other kind of owl?" LOL I always think of that when I say night-owl now.

Also a night owl, albeit 24 hours different than you. Nice post. It had a little bit of everything and a lot enjoyment.
