The Holy Alphabet.

Hello folks ~~ Only a couple of hours until my son

Geoff and has wife, Joanne arrive, so I will put this on

now. My brother sent it to me, so hope some of you find

it interesting.

I have all the food ready, so I can enjoy their visit.

I made some really nice Pea Soup yesterday.

I used to use bacon bones, but Peter suggested that

hocks were much more meaty. Lovely when the weather

is cold.

The Holy Alphabet

Although things are not perfect

Because of trial or pain

Continue in thanksgiving

Do not begin to blame

Even when the times are hard

Fierce winds are bound to blow

God is forever able

Hold on to what you know

Imagine life without His love

Joy would cease to be

Keep thanking Him for all the things

Love imparts to thee

Move out of "Camp Complaining"

No weapon that is known

On earth can yield the power

Praise can do alone

Quit looking at the future

Redeem the time at hand

Start every day with worship

To "thank" is a command

Until we see Him coming

Victorious in the sky

We'll run the race with gratitude

Xalting God most high

Yes, there'll be good times and yes some will be bad, but...

Z ion waits in glory...where none are ever sad!

><><><><><> The usual joke <><><><><><>

A man takes his rottweiler to the vet.

“My dog is cross-eyed, is there anything you can do for him? he asks the vet.

“Well.” said the vet, “let’s have a look at him.”

So he picks the dog up and examines his eyes, then he checks his teeth.

Finally, he says: I’m going to have to put him down.”

“What? Because he’s cross-eyed?”

“No, because he’s really heavy.”

<><><><><><><> I like that one. A couple of thoughts <><><>

There is more to life than increasing it’s speed. Mahatma Gandhi.

No act of kindness, however small is ever wasted. Aesop.

Laughter is the closest distance between two people. Victer Borge.

A friend is a gift you give yourself. Robert Louis Stevenson.

I posted a link to the Red Hat Society on granny (and sent it to Jacqui as well)

Victor Borge was televised in concert some time back with Perlman (violin) and Zuckerman (viola). He explained the difference between the two instruments by saying "the viola burns longer".

Leaving now. Have a good weekend.

Another great post Merle and my daily dose of laughter for the day...You supply the things we need: some daily inspiration and a good dose of laughter. I know when I come to your little corner of the world I will be leaving with a smile.

And here's another thought:

Dear God,
Please put your arms around my shoulders and your hand over my mouth.

Church Gossip

Mildred, the church gossip and self-appointed monitor of the church's
morals, kept sticking her nose into other people's business. Several
members
did not approve of her extra-curricular activities, but they feared her
enough to maintain their silence. She made a mistake, however, when she
accused George, a new member, of being an alcoholic after she saw his old
pickup parked in front of the town's only bar one afternoon. She
emphatically told George and several others that everyone seeing it there
would know what he was doing.

George, a man of few words, stared at her for a moment and just turned and
walked away. He didn't explain, defend or deny. He said nothing.

Later that evening, George quietly parked his pickup in front of Mildred's
house .. walked home ... and left it there all night.

Don't ya just love ole George?

Hi Merle, I am a bit behind with my comments, and blog it just got to late last night.
Granny has suggested that we start a chapter of the "Red Hat Society", would be a lot of fun, but it would have to be two chapters seeing as to how far we are apart.
Loved the joke, and the Holy alphabet.
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.
luv jacqui
