A Prayer

Hello all ~~ Another day above ground has to be a good day !!!

The daughter of a cousin sent me the following prayer. Her mother

has been fighting breast cancer for over a year now, and things do

not look good. But one never knows what Faith and Prayer can do.

Hang in there, Kath, and thanks Kerry.

<><><><><><>

St. Theresa's Prayer:

May today there be peace within.

May you trust your highest power that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.

May you be content knowing you are a child of God.

Let his presence settle into our bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of you.

<><><><><><><><> AND A JOKE <><><><><><>

A highly educated English scholar is travelling down the highway when he has a bad crash. When he wakes up at hospital the doctor breaks the news to him.

“We have done scans on your brain and there is a lot of injured tissue,” the doctor says. “We will have to go in there and remove 12 per cent of your brain cells.”

“The result of this will not be too extreme. The only side-affect will be that your intelligence will be lowered to that of a 13th century Irish peasant.”

The Englishman says: “Oh, OK, well I guess there could be worse. You chaps go in there and do whatever you need to.”

When he wakes after surgery, the doctor says to him: “The operation was a success, but the damage was far worse than the scan showed.

“We had to remove just over 80 per cent of your brain cells.”

The Englishman replies: “Fair dinkum?”

<><><><><<><><><> Thought for the day <><><><><><><><>

I finally got it all together, and forgot where I put it. Cheers!!

Love the prayer. Had to think for a little bit about the joke and then I remembered - oh yes, Australian slang.

Funny but only if an Australian tells it.

Hi Merle, Sandy's poem was good and a real surprise for me, she gave it to me framed just as we were leaving for the airport, they have now moved to Cornwall, the address is "the paddock, Redruth", would love to visit her there.

A powerful prayer, one that should be heeded after careful thought as to its meaning.

That is a powerful prayer. I'm copying and pasting it so I can save it.

Hi Merle!

I agree ... another day above ground IS a good day!!!

The prayer is wonderful. Somehow I begin each day with the intent to keep thoughts like that in my mind ... then ... life happens and I don't know where it goes. Thank you for sharing it.

Love the joke!!!!

I came over to read todays post, but started laughing when I was reminded about the bilingual dog (Meow)from yesterdays joke. *LOL*

Indeed it looks like prayers are what Kath may need at this time...Prayers that the doctors come up with new medications or treatment that will work for her.

Very meaningful prayer. I can also relate to the last sentence of getting it all together and forgetting where I put it. :) ec
