Hi Merle , do you remember "Honest Merve" back in the dayshe was expousing this I'm not too sure honesty was his prime motive, but he did improve.

This made me think of something I heard on the car radio today. A woman called a psychotherapist and said that her 5 year old daughter believes that their dog that died 2 years ago is not dead, but at the vet. The therapist said that the woman should immediately tell the child that the dog died and went to heaven (whatever her version of it is). She also said that the child is not stupid - she surely knows the dog has not been at the vet's office for 2 years - but that is what the (stupid mom) has been telling her. I couldn't believe it!

Thanks one and all for your comments. I must admit I liked
Jerry's quote better than mine --
All truth is GOOD but all truth need not be SPOKEN. Thanks for that,
Judy I think I left you a comment
about kids being smarter than we
realize. We should be honest with
them.

Good list! This discussion on honesty reminds me of what I try to teach the kids. Before you speak, think 1. is it true? 2. Is it kind? and 3. Is it neccessary?
